3) How do I dispute the summons I received?

    You may check off the box for "Not Guilty", mail it to Room 111 City Hall, Buffalo, NY 14202. We will schedule a time for you to appear and notify you by mail. Parking tickets cannot be contested on the grounds that the operator is unable to pay. Also a ticket cannot be contested solely on the grounds that you believe that the Parking Regulation you violated is unfair.

4) I paid my ticket, why did I receive a bill?

    Look at the bottom line on our bill entitled "Notice of Impending Judgement". You will see a box listing information pertaining to the summons. Look over to the box entitled "Amount Paid". If the amount in the box corresponds to the amount you paid, you are being billed for 1 of the following:
      a) Your payment was late and penalties have been assessed.

      b) You did not pay the proper fine amount.

5) Who do I contact if my vehicle has been impounded?

    Call 851-5182 and notify the representative that your car is impounded. Any outstanding tickets under the registered owners name and/or the titled owner must be paid, the vehicle must be registered and insured and all towing and storage charges satisfied in order to obtain a release form. If the police have a hold on the vehicle you will also need written authorization from the Police Department in order to retrieve the vehicle.
