Commissioner of Deeds will be expiring on December 31, 2008. All renewals must be received in room 1308 before December 5, 2008. The applications need to be clearly marked renewal. You must either Live or Work in the City of Buffalo to qualify for appointment.

Applications for renewals can be easily obtained online at www. city-buffalo.com. Click on Commissioner of Deeds listed on the left side of the page. Completed forms with signatures witnessed by a Valid Notary or Commissioner of Deeds are to be submitted to The City Clerk's Office, Room 1308 City Hall, Buffalo, NY 14202 by December 5, 2008. The cost is $20.00 payable to the City Clerk's Office.

After Common Council approval you will be notified by The County of Erie to sign your signature card and pay a $10.00 filing fee to Erie County.

All New Applicants applying between now and December 31, 2008 will still expire on December 31, 2008 and will need to apply for a renewal before December 5, 2008.

Any Government Employee applying for a renewal required for the Proper Performance of Public Duty in which the fee is waived must attach a letter signed by their Department Head to The City Clerk as well as a letter to The County Clerk listing the names of the individuals. For Departments with several Applicants, please submit all applications and corresponding letters at the same time.
