Commissioner Michael Lombardo
Deputy Commissioner Patrick T. Lewis Radio Call Sign "B-51" A 27 year Fire Department veteran, Deputy Commissioner Lewis possesses a wide-range of the firefighting skills, as well as experience as an agent with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. He serves as Deputy Commissioner for Administration. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
Radio Call Sign "B52" Deputy Garnell Smith served in the United States Navy from 1968 through 1972. Following his honorable discharge, he continued his education at Erie Community College, The National Fire Academy at Emmitsburg, MD, NYS Fire Academy at Montour Falls, NY, FBI Academy at Quantico, VA, Federal Law Enforcement Academy at Brunswick, GA, New Mexico Tech at Soccoro, NM. Deputy Smith received numerous Emergency Medical Services, Fire Service Instructor, and Professional Certifications.
Radio Call Sign "B-53" A 23 year veteran of the Buffalo Fire Department, Deputy Commissioner Whitfield, will serve as Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Services (EMS), which oversees all first aid and EMS calls in the Department. As the Department's Chief Fire Administrator from 1998 to 2004, Whitfield served as liaison between Civil Service and the New York State Police and Fire Retirement System. A front-line Firefighter, Deputy Commissioner Whitfield has served at Engine 37, Engine 31, and Engine 33.
