A 23 year veteran of the Buffalo Fire Department, Deputy Commissioner Whitfield, served as Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Services (EMS), which oversees all first aid and EMS calls in the Department. As the Department's Chief Fire Administrator from 1998 to 2004, Whitfield served as liaison between Civil Service and the New York State Police and Fire Retirement System. A front-line Firefighter, Deputy Commissioner Whitfield has served at Engine 37, Engine 31, and Engine 33.

A 27 year Fire Department veteran, Deputy Commissioner Lewis possesses a wide-range of the firefighting skills, as well as experience as an agent with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. He serves as Deputy Commissioner for Administration. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Fredonia, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.
