Home > City Departments > Office of Strategic Planning > Planning > Research Group Research GroupThe Information Management Team / GIS is responsible for the preparation of a wide variety of research, forecasting, reporting and data collection activities, as well as assuring the availability of detailed information and information services on planning activities and processes. The collection, analysis and presentation of insightful documentation of relevant trends, conditions and rankings present within the City of Buffalo is critical to residents, government agencies and private businesses. The Office of Strategic Planning will be a key provider of such information to government agencies, the business community, CitiStat, and the general public. Accurate, useful and timely information on the City and its environs is essential to the formulation of appropriate plans, policies and action programs consistent with the mission of the Office of Strategic Planning. The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Team is the central repository of geographic information for City of Buffalo. The GIS Group is responsible for the development, maintenance, update, analyses, custom display and distribution of geographic information to the various divisions of the Office of Strategic Planning, other City agencies and the public. The GIS products and services will be used to support the Office of Strategic Planning, CitiStat and other City of Buffalo decision-making processes. |
