KUCHARSKI NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF BERC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

BUFFALO—Tom Kucharski, President and CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, was recently named Vice President of the Buffalo Economic Renaissance Corporation (BERC) Board of Directors. Mr. Kucharski has been a member of the BERC board since May 2001. 

"Tom is an excellent choice for this position," said Timothy Wanamaker, President of BERC.  "He brings experience and insight to all of the projects BERC is involved in and I am pleased he is taking on a more prominent role with the board."

 "I returned to Western New York to help make a difference in the economic vitality of my hometown," said Thomas Kucharski, President and CEO of Buffalo Niagara Enterprise. "Buffalo Niagara will not be economically successful if its urban areas are not healthy and vibrant once again. BERC has proven to be an important catalyst for brining jobs to downtown, through its commitment to business development, especially through their programs to assist small minority women businesses as well as workforce training for disadvantaged residents of Buffalo. I am proud to be part of their efforts."

"To accomplish our goals for the City of Buffalo, we need people like Tom Kucharski working for us," said Mayor Byron Brown.  "Tom has done a wonderful job with the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise and as a BERC board member.   I look forward to working more closely with him on future projects."

Mr. Kucharski has served as President and CEO of BNE since February of 2001. As BNE President, Mr. Kucharski focuses on regional image enhancement, business attraction marketing and the implementation of a region-wide prospect management system. He works closely with a number of public and private sector economic entities, as well as the real estate development community.
