Non-Buffalo Residents and Nationwide Residents Now Encouraged to Apply

BUFFALO—Mayor Byron Brown today announced that the City of Buffalo will extend the deadline for people to sign up for the Buffalo Police Exam, and that—for the first time—the exam is open to applicants nationwide.

“The city has decided to waive the residency rule for this police examination,” said Mayor Brown. “We have had a great interest in the test from many people who had to leave Buffalo for work and who now want to return. This is an excellent opportunity to bring our young people who are interested in law enforcement back to the city.”

The exam date has been moved to April 7, 2007 at the Buffalo Convention Center.   So far, there have been 2,500 applicants for the test. The deadline to apply is now March 4, 2007. For more information, log on to takethetest.jobs or call 851-5900, Ext. 226.
