Mayor Brown Announces Revised Garbage Collection Schedule

Department of Public Works, Parks, and Streets to collect garbage around Christmas holiday

Mayor Byron W. Brown today announced a revised garbage collection schedule for the week of December 23 to December 27, 2008.  This will be conducted by the City of Buffalo’s Department of Public Works, Parks & Streets as a result of this past weekend’s snowstorms, as well as to reduce inconveniences associated with holiday garbage pick-ups.

To participate in this collection, city residents are asked to place their garbage out on their curb in accordance with this schedule listed below, rather than on their normal pick-up dates.  All Wednesday and Thursday garbage MUST be out by Friday at 7:00 AM.

Regularly scheduled garbage collection this week will take place as follows:

Regular Pick-Up Day                     New Pick-Up Day

Wednesday                                    Friday, December 26th

Thursday                                        Friday, December 26th & Saturday, December 27th   
                                                                                              (if necessary)

  Friday                                          Saturday, December 27th

Note: There will be NO city garbage collection on Christmas Day, December 25th. 

Also, please note that next week, Thursday’s (1/1/09) garbage will be picked up on Friday and Friday’s (1/2/09) garbage will be picked up on Saturday.
