The ShotSpotter GLS delivers real-time and immediate gunshot location data, enabling accurate decisions for emergency response, helping improve situational intelligence and elevating first responder safety. The ShotSpotter gunfire alert data also helps improve incident response and management and provides additional forensic evidence for investigations and analysis. “The safety and security of our residents is a top priority,” said City of Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown. “We thank the FBI for playing such a key role and I believe this system will only add to our crime fighting and crime prevention measures as we continue to reduce overall crime in the City of Buffalo”. “Helping minimize gun violence within our community is a top concern for our department and the City of Buffalo,” said Buffalo Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda. “This technology and the assistance of the FBI will help us detect and track gunfire as it happens, allowing us to respond faster to gunfire incidents, improve our presence within the community, and add actionable information to our existing community policing efforts.” “The FBI is pleased to be working with ShotSpotter to help make a positive impact in the City of Buffalo in ultimately helping reduce illegal gun use and gunfire,” said Buffalo FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge Richard Kollmar.
