Mayor Brown Announces Last Day of Foreclosure Assistance

Mayor Byron W. Brown and Assessment and Taxation Commissioner Martin Kennedy today announced that tomorrow – Friday, October 19th – is the final day for assistance for any city residents who are facing foreclosure at the city auction scheduled next week on October 22, 23, and 24, 2007.

Lawyers for the City of Buffalo will be available to meet with concerned homeowners who do not qualify for assistance to seek Pro Se court orders tomorrow October 19th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Erie County Courthouse located at 25 Delaware Avenue.

The City of Buffalo also encourages anyone facing foreclosure to have an attorney assist them in this process.  Any Buffalo residents who cannot afford an attorney are strongly advised to contact the following agencies for assistance:
