Census 2010

A Message from Mayor Byron W. Brown:

Our goal for the 2010 Census is 100% participation, and we need your help to make that happen.  So, lend us a hand and “Be Counted.”We have formed a Complete Count Committee, led by Kenya Hobbs, Complete Count Committee Chairperson and Tanya Perrin-Johnson, Commissioner of Community Services. The purpose of the committee is to ensure that everyone residing in the City of Buffalo is counted during the 2010 Census.

The 2010 Census will generate local employment opportunities for City of Buffalo residents, determine our representation in Congress and shape the future of our community. An accurate count is essential because it determines the funding we receive for our infrastructure such as roads and bridges, and citizen services such as health and human service programs.

The Complete Count Committee will plan and implement local outreach efforts to publicize the importance of the 2010 Census. There are six subcommittees that will help to spread the word.
