Search warrants Target “Worst of the Worst”

Mayor Byron W. Brown and Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda announced that approximately 20 arrests were made as the Buffalo Police Department, along with local, state and federal partners conducted the first raids of 2012.  According to Law Enforcement officials, 9 search warrants were executed primarily on the city's eastside.

Mayor Brown and the Commissioner said today's search warrants were a continuing effort to rid the city of the "worst of the worst".  The raids began just after 6:30 this morning.   Some 60 Buffalo police personnel were involved in today's search warrants, including members of the SWAT Team, Narcotics, District Officers, VCIT and the Buffalo Police K-9.

Buffalo police partnered with the FBI, U.S. Attorney's office, Erie County Sheriffs, Amherst police, Cheektowaga police and the Town of Tonawanda police.
