June 17, 2013 - Mayor Byron Brown and Council President Richard Fontana announced today that Concrete Applied Technologies Corp. was awarded the $2.3 million contract for the East Lovejoy, Clinton & East Delavan Streets Improvement Project, enabling work to begin by August 2013, weather depending.
The streetscape project will include street lighting replacement with energy saving LED lighting, pavement reconstruction curbs, sidewalks, drainage system plus new handicap accessible walkways.

Mayor Brown said of the $2.3 million initiative, “These types of projects continue to add to the quality of life for the residents and businesses in the area. Significant infrastructure improvements like this also strengthen neighborhoods and help attract new investment to the area. I want to thank Council President Fontana for his diligent work on this project.”

Council President Fontana added, “These Lovejoy District communities are already desirable neighborhoods and these improvements to the business strips will further enhance their appeal to new and existing residents.”

The project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2014.
