Robert G. Shibley To Facilitate Discussion on the Location of New Amtrack Stat

Experienced leader with extensive architectural background to develop planning process for a new train station

October 27 – Mayor Byron W. Brown is pleased to announce that Robert G. Shibley, Professor and Dean of the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning, has agreed to serve as lead facilitator of discussions that will determine the location of the new Amtrak Station. Today’s announcement came one day after Mayor Brown accepted Governor Andrew Cuomo’s challenge to spend the next six months leading the effort to find the ideal location for a new station to replace the aging structure on Exchange Street. In return, the Governor’s administration will fund up to one million dollars for the study.
