Ellicott District Councilmember Brian C. Davis was born on June 11, 1969 in Buffalo, New York. As a child he attended St. Columba-Brigid Elementary School and in 1987 he graduated from Burgard High School. He attended the University at Buffalo and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Political Science from Trinity College.
 
Known as a “true public servant”, Brian was elected to the Buffalo Common Council in November 2001. Brian has chosen the motto, “Communication is the Key for a Better Tomorrow”! Councilmember Brian C. Davis continues to find various means to provide effective communication between his constituents in which he serves and the government that employ’s him. “Dedication To Others Is His Signature and Leadership Will Be His Legacy”. Such leadership has landed the Ellicott District with over $414 million invested in new businesses, a wealth of residential opportunities, developed business strips employing City of Buffalo residents, and ongoing educational opportunities within the past five years. 
 
Councilmember Davis is currently a member of St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic Church, as well as belonging to the following organizations: President of the Community Action Organization of Erie County, the NAACP, the Ellicott Neighborhood Advisory Council, Ellicott Federation of Block Clubs, WNY Hispanic Civic & Friends, the South Ellicott/Exchange Street Business Association, Back to Basics Outreach Ministries, Buffalo Place, Inc., and Sheehan Memorial Hospital.
 
Councilmember Brian C. Davis is an involved member of the Civil Service, Budget, Education, and the Minority Business Enterprise Committees of Common Council. In addition, he is the Chairman of the Finance Committee and ex-officio member of the Appraisal Review Board, Chair of the Inclusion Committee, and member of the Joint Schools Construction Board.
 
Councilmember Davis is married to the former Cynthia Burhanan and is the proud father of Brandon and MaKenna Davis.
