The inscription on the plaque reads: "Canadian maple trees presented to the City
of Buffalo to commemorate the sesquicentennial by the Canadian
Consulate General September 19, 1982. 'It is the blood-hued maple
straight and strong, voicing abroad its patriotic song. Its daring colours bravely flinging forth, the ensign of the Nation of the
North.' - E.Pauline Johnson (Tekahionwake)."
